Canada and the Global Summit of Women - February 16th, 2011 - 7pm

Alicia Natividad is a lawyer in private practice in Ottawa, Canada, practicing in the areas of corporate/commercial, real estate, estate planning, trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and litigation in these areas.  She was a longtime member of BPW Ottawa and was a recipient of the BPW Ottawa Women's Award in 1992.  In addition, Alicia is a recipient of the 2002 Governor General's Golden Jubilee Award, 2004 Philippine Presidential Citation for Filipino Individuals and Organizations Overseas, 2007 Asian of the Year Award Finalist, and numerous other citations.

Alicia will be speaking on experiences with the Global Summit of Women, its genesis, the 2010 Global Summit in Beijing, China, the 2011 Global Summit in Turkey, and the Canadian participation in the Summit.

A New Year has begun, and it offers many new possibilities!  I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday, and were able to recharge your batteries during the break.  I send you all my best wishes for the upcoming year, and hope that it is prosperous and successful in every way!

Our first event is next Wednesday.  Doris Hall, the National President of BPW Canada will be speaking at our first teleconference for the New Year.  Detailed information is available on the last posting for December 2010.  If you would like to participate please contact us as soon as possible. 

I will shortly be posting more information on various other events, however, some things to keep in mind:

1.  The Status of Women Committee meetings are coming up fast in New York.  BPW members can participate, and more information is available from club presidents.

2.  There are two additional teleconferences this year coming up, and one additional fundraising teleconference which I will be posting more information about soon.

3.  The International Federation of Business and Professional Women's Congress is this June in Helsinki, Finland!  For more information see:
